Work Schedule: Full Time. On-call work may also be required based on operational needs.
Compensation: $33.65 - $38.46 /hourly

Tessera isseekinga dedicated, detail-driven, and mission-minded AccountantIto support the Base Maintenance Contract (BMC) at the U.S. Air Force Academy.The Accountant I role at Tessera supports operations throughaccuratefinancial management, subcontract coordination, and compliance oversight. This position is critical formaintainingsmooth operations through precise accounting practices,timelyprocessing of payments and subcontractor invoices, effective support of financial processes, and adherence to contract and subcontract requirements. The role also provides essential support in payroll, reporting, onboarding coordination, audit preparation, and documentation management, contributing to the overall success, accountability, and operational integrity of the organization.
Duties:
Prepare journalentries and reconcile bank and ledger accounts.
Process accounts payable and subcontractor invoices ina timelyandaccuratemanner.
Maintain financial data in Maximo and other systems; ensure alignment with contract requirements.
Assistwith monthly closings and financial reporting.
Track preventive maintenance payments and credit card receipts.
Supportpayrolladministration and employee license tracking.
Maintainbase access documentation and credentialing for subcontractors.
Coordinate subcontractor onboarding, compliance tracking, and required documentation to ensureadherenceto contract and siterequirements.
Serve as a facilitator between subcontractors and site managementregardingaccess requirements, schedulingcoordination, and contract-related communications.
Support special projects, audits, and workflow improvements.
Reconcile general ledger discrepancies and ensureaccuratefinancialrecords.
Prepare andmaintainsupporting documentation for applicable audits.
Monitor expenditures andassistwith budget tracking and forecasting activities.
Review/verify invoices, expense reports, etc.
Generate financial reports for management review and/or analysis.
All other duties asassigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldpreferred.
3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in facilities maintenance or federal contracting.
Proficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.); experience with Maximo preferred.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
Understanding ofGAAP and federal acquisition regulations (FAR).
Ability to interpret legal and financial documents.
Strong communicationand problem-solving skills.
Experience with subcontractor oversight and contract compliance.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
