Job Description
Summary: Siemens is a global technology company focused on industry, infrastructure, transport, and healthcare. They are seeking a talented AI Engineer with a strong foundation in mechanical engineering to drive the integration of artificial intelligence into engineering design and simulation for automated manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement AI-driven tools that enhance mechanical design, modeling, and simulation processes
- Apply machine learning algorithms to predict mechanical behavior
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers to automate CAD/CAE workflows and optimize complex mechanical designs through AI-assisted parametric analysis
- Utilize deep learning and reinforcement learning to support generative design, and simulation-based decision making
- Build data pipelines from design repositories, test results, and manufacturing data to train models for design optimization
- Support the development of digital twin models that connect mechanical design data with in-field performance data for continuous product improvement and automated manufacturing
- Maintain documentation, testing, and version control to ensure reproducibility and compliance with engineering standards
- Stay current on advancements in AI for engineering design, additive manufacturing, and product development
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Computational Mechanics, Computer Science or Artificial Intelligence
- 1-3 years of experience applying AI or automation in a mechanical engineering or product development CAD/CAM/CAE environment
- Strong programming skills in Python, with proficiency in AI frameworks
- Familiarity with CAD/CAE environments such as SolidWorks or Siemens NX, but preferably with PTC Creo
- Familiarity with PLM environments preferably with Siemens Teamcenter
- Understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, thermodynamics, and structural analysis
- Experience working with engineering datasets including simulation
- Knowledge of data preprocessing, feature extraction, and model training for generative engineering applications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience in AI-assisted generative design or simulation automation
- Experience integrating AI models with engineering automation tools or digital twin platforms
- Strong understanding of MLOps, Git, and CI/CD for model deployment in engineering workflows
- Excellent communication skills with ability to bridge mechanical domain knowledge and data science techniques
