Press Operator 1

Summary: SGS & Co, part of the Propelis Group, provides brand activation solutions across various media. They are seeking a Press Operator 1 to operate and maintain a two-piece, dry off-set printing press, ensuring proper mechanical operations and participating in maintenance and process improvement efforts. Responsibilities: - Maintain proper mechanical operations of press - Maintain logs of daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance records - Communicate necessary press maintenance in advance to Production Manager - Record data into job tickets - Keep track of inventory - Participate in process improvement efforts and various production meetings to foster a positive, creative impact on the business - Attend all Environmental Health & Safety training sessions and other company-wide and departmental meetings - Keep work area clean and organized - Read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS) - Follow all personal protective equipment (PPE) procedures - Follow departmental standard operating procedures (SOP) - Work overtime when requested by management - When handing off jobs to co-workers/next shift, clearly communicate any information for job completion - Assist with additional responsibilities as directed by management Required Qualifications: - High school diploma or GED equivalent - Strong mechanical aptitude - Strong technical print knowledge - Exceptional color vision - Basic computer literacy - Ability to work safely in press areas - Maintain exemplary attendance and punctuality - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead a team - Ability to follow direction and work individually or as part of a team - Self-driven and able to work with minimal oversight - Ability to conceptualize and problem solve - Ability to multitask - Attention to detail - Comply with all company standards, policies, procedures, and applicable regulations - Willing to take on additional responsibilities as needed - Vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus - Use hands to reach, grasp, handle, and feel - Effectively communicate - Required to stand and walk for most of shift - Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds Preferred Qualifications: - Experience operating a printing press preferred - Experience with dry off-set preferred Required Skills: Operating printing press, Dry offset printing, Mechanical aptitude, Technical print knowledge, Color vision, Basic computer literacy, Safety Data Sheets (SDS) knowledge, Personal protective equipment (PPE) procedures, follow direction, Multitasking, Self-driven Benefits: A selection of health care plans with prescription drug coverage, Dental plan, Vision plan, Basic and supplemental life insurance, A flexible spending account for medical and dependent care expenses or a health savings account based on plan selection, Short/long term disability, 401(k) Savings Plan
