Accountant/Financial Analyst

Summary: Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking an Accountant/Financial Analyst to join their team. The role involves performing journal entries, account analyses, and assisting with month-end close tasks, while also preparing financial analyses and budgets for management review. Responsibilities: - Perform or audit standard journal entries, account analyses, workpapers, and reconciliations, and assist in performing month end close tasks, and/or the preparation of tax returns - Prepare analysis of financial results for management review - Prepare and/or assist with preparation of budgets, projections, product cost analyses, and other analyses, including recommendations to management, and/or assist in documentation of internal controls - Assist with research and planning according to generally accepted accounting principles and/or current tax laws - Assist with special projects - Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles - Understand. Create. Simplify - Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or related field, or equivalent experience - Motivated, self-directed - Experience with Excel - Knowledge of accounting and finance principles, theories, and concepts based on educational experience - Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills - Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities - Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment - Background check results satisfactory to SEL - Negative drug test result(s) Preferred Qualifications: - Internship experience - Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment - Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Tax systems - Tax, audit, project, and/or cost accounting experience Required Skills: Accounting principles, Finance principles, Excel, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Tax systems, Tax accounting, Audit accounting, Project accounting, Cost accounting, Self-direction, Speaking Benefits: We’re 100% employee owned.
