Job Description
Summary: Schindler Elevator Corporation is a leading company in urban mobility solutions, and they are seeking a Financial Services Intern for Summer 2026. The internship offers college undergraduate students the opportunity to learn practical skills in finance and accounting while gaining hands-on experience in data analysis, financial reporting, and vendor payment projects.
Responsibilities:
- Become familiar with various functions within the Financial Services departments, allowing for the ability to determine areas of interest for their study within Finance and Accounting
- Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting month end financial data to report on collections, payables, billing, unapplied cash, etc
- Preparing financial reports, presentations, and other documents for internal stakeholders
- Assist with various financial analysis tasks, such as evaluating portfolios, supporting the investments, forecasting future financial performance, and supporting strategic planning
- Return mail master data clean up for ERP implementation go live in August
- Standardizing and documenting SOP’s for NI/MOD billing process
- Auditing Standard operating procedures for SHAPE (ERP implementation) and report out gaps in process
- Vendor payment terms improvement project
- Reduction of unapplied cash project to be coordinated with AR team
- Preparing invoices, reconciling payments, assisting with client communications, and ensuring timely mailing of invoices
- Collections for $10,000 and below to reduce bad debt
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a current student pursuing a degree in Finance or Accounting
- Strong math and analytical skills
- Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
- Exposure to specialized software and general ability to quickly learn to navigate computer tools and programs
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, contracts, reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Must have reliable housing and transportation to commute to office each day. Housing assistance is not offered
