Position Summary
The Gas and Chemical Systems (GCS) Systems, Quality, and Reliability Section Leader role is focused on driving significant improvement year over year in the areas of conformance, asset management, and digital transformation. GCS is seeking a visionary engineer to lead GCS into a more automated future through digital transformation while maintaining exceptional product quality. This role involves collaborating with systems, network, quality assurance, and asset management teams. A key objective of the role is to improve Gas and Chemical Management and Monitoring Systems at Samsung. This role fulfills key business objectives of transforming and modernizing how our organization conducts daily work, detects abnormal signals, and operates, maintains, and commissions equipment. This role is also responsible for engineering support of systems, software development of new and existing applications, and managing new system integration or system transitions. As a part of the GCS team, you will interact with the on-site Equipment Engineering teams and Operations & Maintenance Technician teams to drive system improvements and digital transformation.
Role and Responsibilities
Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:
Ensures conformance standards are upheld related to site QMS and ISO/IATF certifications.
Oversees and deploys the GCS Department Incident Prevention strategy.
Ensures department conformance to all site, Infra, and GCS quality standards.
Actively collaborate with other cross-functional teams to ensure high-performance applications.
Ownership over GCS Systems and DX improvements for those systems.
Interact with operations teams, construction teams, and equipment vendors.
Systems monitoring and management, including sustaining operations, maintenance, and process improvements.
Drive innovative projects focused on improving the reliability and operation of Samsung & GCS systems.
Lead a team responsible for developing site standards, training material, best practices, application documentation, and system guidelines.
Coordinate with Korean HQ to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing with the parent organization.
Communicates technical information within the department through presentations.
Skills and Qualifications
Here's what you'll need:
C.S. Engineering, Computer Science.
B.S. Industrial Engineering, Software.
B.S. Technical Management or another related Engineering Major.
B.S. Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related technical field.
2 -5 years of operations and manufacturing experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
The candidate must demonstrate strong ownership required to interface with stakeholders across Samsung Facilities, Engineering, GCS Operations/Maintenance, and Construction organizations to sustain regular operations.
Experience with Quality Conformance Audits and execution of QMS processes.
Experience owning and driving key initiatives.
Oversee implementation of internal systems, quality and reliability programs.
Excellent organizational skills, ability to assess situations and set priorities.
Lead and participate in quality initiatives, programs, and activities to drive world class quality performance.
Strong knowledge of industrial and/or manufacturing systems.
Familiarity with process gas and chemical systems preferred .
Fab engineering experience in the semiconductor industry a plus.
Self-starter with ability to work well in a team-based environment and to meet business objectives.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Excellent organizational skills, ability to assess situations, and set priorities.
Ability to work overtime / on non-scheduled days as required.
The current base salary range for this role is between $106,000 - $145,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
