Job Title One-Call Operator Compensation $59.25/hr Location Carlsbad, NM 88220 Delaware Basin Schedule 5x2; Monday–Friday 10-hour days On-call weekend rotation every 9 weeks Start Date 6/22/26 Eligible Expenses Per Diem: $200/day Mileage Reimbursement: IRS Rate Cell Phone Reimbursement: $50/month Scope The One-Call Operator is responsible for underground utility locating, mapping accuracy, excavation support, regulatory compliance, and emergency response coordination across Delaware Basin operations. This role supports safe excavation activities through accurate utility identification, field coordination, documentation, and stakeholder communication while maintaining compliance with company and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Technical & Operational Duties
- Calibrate, operate, and maintain line identification equipment to ensure reliable detection of underground utilities while maintaining detailed documentation and certification records
- Locate and mark underground utilities using GIS and mapping tools
- Install identification markers on company-owned lines within required timeframes
- Conduct line crossing inspections and monitor digging and boring activities
- Verify compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements during excavation activities
- Maintain and update mapping data for underground assets to ensure consistency and accuracy
- Record one-call activities in centralized systems for reporting and operational visibility
Compliance & Coordination
- Uphold regulatory, environmental, and safety standards in coordination with Operations Foreman, Superintendents, and Environmental Health & Safety teams
- Lead and support emergency response efforts related to excavation activities
- Maintain emergency response plans and follow established protocols
- Serve as a field-wide contact for underground utility detection and emergency coordination
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
- Respond to inquiries regarding underground utilities from contractors, lease operators, coworkers, and the public
- Maintain accurate documentation of communications and field activities
- Notify lease operators of planned boring and digging activities near pipelines and flowlines
- Attend and coordinate Wide Area Conferences (WAC) for New Mexico projects
Training & Professional Development
- Assist with onboarding and training of team members
- Share expertise related to calibration techniques, mapping consistency, SOP implementation, and utility locating practices
- Support development of lower-level employees and continuous improvement initiatives
Process Improvement & Adaptability
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for locating, marking, calibration, and emergency response
- Support operational efficiency initiatives and adapt to evolving business priorities
