Position Summary Rue Insurance’s Senior Account Manager / Team Lead is a trusted advisor that liaises between clients and insurance carriers to convey information, provide understanding, and ensure work is performed in an accurate, timely manner. The Senior Commercial Lines Account Manager / Team Lead is primarily responsible for providing outstanding client service and advisory support to all new and existing clients in a book of business (accounts above $25k in premium) and leading a team of Commercial Account Managers. Quality of work must exemplify the best-in-class service standards established by Rue Insurance at all times. The Senior Account Manager / Team Lead’s main focus is to build and maintain client relationships to support the new business and retention goals of their department and serve as a leader to a team of Commercial Account Managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a team of Commercial Account Managers by setting clear priorities, establishing structured work plans, and providing hands-on leadership and support
- Provide hands-on assistance, training, and mentorship support to team members to enhance their personal professional development and success
- Lead internal agency and departmental meetings with respect to market relationships and/or client servicing
- Handle primary responsibility for overall servicing of larger ($150K+ premium) and/or complex Commercial client accounts
- Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships
- Efficiently and effectively lead new client onboarding and account renewals, and advocate for client interests as needed
- Support the Rue Be Ready model by proactively seeking to discover client operational or exposure-based risk improvement opportunities, making appropriate risk control or insurance coverage recommendations to address identified risks, and following through to resolution
- Resolve coverage questions or deficiencies identified in the course of account servicing, independently or with joint accountability with Producers, as appropriate
- Proactively identify and resolve client, insurer, Rue personnel, and third-party communication and service issues in an empathetic and professional manner
- Collaborate with agency management to drive growth, including, but not limited to, leading account rounding efforts and supporting new program development and integration
- Serve as liaison between insurers and clients, both as a technical advisor and on service-related issues
- Develop and maintain advanced exposure and coverage knowledge by proactively seeking formal and informal educational programs to enhance knowledge and skills, and/or to obtain additional professional designations
- Participate in and/or conduct internal educational program(s) as a Subject Matter Expert to further enhance knowledge and skills for self and team members
- Contribute to enhancement of agency processes and procedures, including, but not limited to, taking initiative to drive continuous improvement in client service offerings, Epic Workflows, system documentation, and paper and electronic records management
- Follow all agency processes and procedures, including but not limited to, Epic Workflows, client documentation, paper and electronic records retention guidelines, etc.
- Accompany producers on client visits to accounts, as requested
- Be familiar with and follow agency E&O guidelines
- Attend and actively participate in regular department and monthly company meetings
- Perform all other duties or projects assigned by management

Work Schedule & Classification: Full-time, salaried (Exempt) position
Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 plus bonus opportunity based on company and individual performance
Physical Requirements: Must be capable of sitting for a long period of time, working on a computer, standing, and walking.
Required Qualifications
- Valid NJ Property and Casualty Insurance Licenses
- 5+ years Commercial account management experience with an agency or risk management department required
- At least 2 years of experience leading a team
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent organization skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent customer service mindset and skills
- Ability to multi-task and complete work with a sense of urgency
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Knowledge of insurance company rating systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Experience with agency management software
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience using Applied Systems Epic
- Advanced Professional insurance designation(s) (e.g., CPCU, ARM) in progress or completed
- Active Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) Insurance Designation
- Active Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation
