Rockwell Collins Inc. d/b/a Collins Aerospace has an opening for a Senior Engineer, Software Engineering. This position is 100% remote; can work anywhere in the U.S.

What YOU will do
Design and develop software-only products, including working on software development tasks, including design, implementation plans, requirements, software code, integration testing and verification.
Provide analysis for the decomposition of customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system high level and low-level requirements and make recommendations for the generation of verification criteria and plans for the requirements.
Work in a cross-functional agile team, participate in technical discussions and collaborate with other engineers on the team to find optimal solutions.
Research, evaluate and recommend investments or changes in technology, resources, procedures, equipment, systems, or other assets to improve the quality of the organization's systems products and services.
Lead a cross-functional team daily and coordinate regularly with engineering and project management to ensure success of the product and program.
Work with the aspects of quality, cost, schedule and scope while navigating through the various team dynamics and also work through processes, optimization methods and risk management tools for small or moderately complex projects.
Qualifications You Must Have
Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field and 5 years of progressive experience as a Software Engineer or related role in the avionics industry. In the alternative, at least a master’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field and 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer or related role in the avionics industry would be acceptable.
Must possess at least 3 years of experience with full lifecycle software development process (software requirements, design, implementation, and verification).
Must possess at least 3 years of experience with DO-178B/C certification guidelines for showing compliance to applicable airworthiness regulations for the software aspects of airborne systems and equipment certification.
Must possess at least 3 years of experience with real time operating systems.
Must possess at least 3 years of experience with code coverage techniques to include MC/DC coverage.

The salary range is $133,494.00 to $164,000.00 USD per year. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
