Job Description
Summary: RPM Living is committed to fostering a people-first culture and is offering an internship opportunity in Human Resources for college students. The HR intern will gain hands-on experience through department-specific projects and assignments, while also participating in various learning activities and company-wide initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Shadows department leaders in all areas of HR, to include Payroll, Benefits, Talent Management, HR Operations, Talent Acquisition, Associate Experience, HRIS, and Employee Relations
- Completes department-specific weekly assignments and projects to gain a better understanding of the various functions within the HR department
- Participates in learning activities through department meetings and associate interviews that provide an overview of department roles and responsibilities
- Attends internship meetings hosted by the Internship Liaison and the corporate executive team
- Participates in company-wide projects and meetings to include: Townhall calls, RPMServes community service activities, and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) initiatives
- Completes a final program assessment/evaluation with the Director of HR Operations, VP of HR, and SVP of HR
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Human Resources or other relevant college or university degree program
- Current college student – Junior year or entering senior year
- Ability to work in the office five days per week efficiently and meet deadlines
- Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to read documents, computer screens and data
- Must be able to hear and understand verbal communications in person and over the phone or computer
- May occasionally be required to lift or carry items such as files or office supplies weighing up to 15 pounds
- Must be able to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse and other office equipment
- This is an in-office role, requiring the associate to work in one of our corporate or regional offices 5 days per week
- The office is an open setting which may include bright lights, constant noises and distractions
Preferred Qualifications:
- A valid driver's license is preferred; candidates without a license will be provided a liability waiver
