Job Description
What is the opportunity?
The Client and Account Data Solutions (CADS) Group is responsible for driving the overall data strategy and data management goals for RBC CM. The team is accountable for ensuring that the organization is aware of our data intent, that all of our solutions are aligned to our intent and that we are consistently delivering value to our business teams through our active work and influence. The Client Data team is accountable for the implementation and maintenance of the reference data that is used in our operational processes, accountable for maturing our data governance controls as well as participating actively in business and regulatory initiatives that have a significant data impact.
The Manager will support the CDR and broader Client Data team by performing hands-on data analysis, profiling, and validation across multiple source systems and platforms, while also translating findings into clear, executive-ready deliverables. This role is central to ensuring that client and counterparty data is accurate, complete, and fit-for-purpose across regulatory, risk, and business use cases. The successful candidate combines strong analytical execution with the ability to communicate insights through dashboards, reports, and presentations to senior stakeholders. You will work closely with Business Analysts, stakeholders, and technology teams to investigate data issues, support onboarding and migration initiatives, and contribute to the team's delivery commitments.
This role will :
Lead the Client Data activities within APAC
Manage the Client Data team in APAC (with oversight (through a dotted line capacity) into North American timezone colleagues within APAC)
Maintain client, account and SSI data in Capital Markets front and back office systems.
Support activities in client data and KYC to facilitate onboarding.
Interact with stakeholders regarding initiatives that relate to account & enablement activities
Work with the other internal CADS teams as well as external business partners in ensuring that we consistently deliver high quality services
Identify, analyze and address strategic and tactical issues, opportunities and potential threats that face the Account Enablement space
Look to enhance operational effectiveness to optimise processes, reducing manual effort and cycle time.
*This role will be primarily supporting a North American timezone*
What will you do?
Data Quality & Issue Resolution
Execute data quality checks against defined rules, thresholds, and business expectations. Investigate data breaks and exceptions, performing root cause analysis with guidance from senior team members. Document findings clearly and contribute to remediation tracking and resolution workflows.
Reporting, Dashboarding & Stakeholder Communication
Design and maintain dashboards and recurring reports that surface data quality trends, onboarding metrics, and initiative progress. Prepare clear, visually compelling PowerPoint presentations for senior leadership and governance forums. Translate complex data findings into concise narratives suited to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Collaboration & Support
Support Business Analysts in requirements validation by providing data samples, profiling results, and feasibility assessments. Participate in working sessions with stakeholders and technology teams, contributing data-level insights. Respond to ad hoc data requests from stakeholders, delivering accurate and timely outputs.
Learning & Development
Develop domain knowledge in client and counterparty reference data, including data models, source systems, and regulatory context. Build technical skills in SQL, data analysis tooling, and visualization. Contribute to team process improvements and adopt evolving best practices for analysis and documentation.
Effective Leadership
Ensure team processes across North American coverage are effective through consistent management of controls, reports and processes as well as oversight into development, objectives and performance management.
What do you need to succeed?
Must have
4–7 years in a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Reporting Analyst, or similar data-focused role.
Demonstrated experience building dashboards and reports for senior or executive audiences.
Experience working with large datasets and relational databases in a financial services or similarly regulated environment.
Familiarity with data governance, data quality frameworks, or client/counterparty reference data is an asset.
Technical Skills
Strong SQL with the ability to write and troubleshoot queries against large relational databases.
Proficiency in Tableau, PowerBI or equivalent dashboarding tools
Proficiency in Excel including advanced functions, pivot tables, and lookups; Power Query familiarity is an asset.
Exposure to Python, R, VBA, Tableau, or Power BI is an asset. (nice to have)
Comfort working with messy, incomplete, or inconsistent data and applying structured approaches to make sense of it.
Communication & Working Style
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal
Organized and able to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
Proactive in flagging issues and asking questions rather than making assumptions.
Curious, self-motivated, and receptive to feedback.
