Job Description
Summary: Rolls-Royce is one of the most enduring and iconic brands in the world and has been at the forefront of innovation for over a century. The Test Stand Engineer will define, install, and operate test rigs on gas turbine engine hardware and subsystems, ensuring compliance with local standards.
Responsibilities:
- Support the design and definition of new test rigs. Test rigs will vary in complexity and application across multiple test stands, and laboratories, and engine programs
- Responsible for setup and installation of test rigs
- Responsible for creating data collection profiles
- Responsible for safe operation of test rigs and data collection
- Responsible for raw data interrogation and troubleshooting
- Responsible for repair and maintenance of test stand and laboratory spaces, including preservation
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with 3 + years experience OR
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with 1+ year of experience OR
- Master's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology OR
- JD/PhD
- Must be a US citizen to be considered for this role
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated mechanical and electronics troubleshooting experience
- Fundamental understanding of data acquisition and instrumentation functionality
- Demonstrate written and oral communication to a variety of audiences
- Strong documentation skills and procedural improvement & compliance
- Efficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word
- Experience with National Instruments LabView
- Experience with hydraulic control equipment
- Experience with fundamental mechanical or material testing
- Experience with design of experiments and control of variables
- Experience with gas turbine engines, and gas turbine engine hardware
- Airframe (A) and Powerplant (P) license would be preferred
- Flexibility to adjust job assignments depending on priority and program demands
