Job Description
Summary: Rincon Research Corporation is a company focused on innovating and developing digital signal processing products for national security. They are seeking motivated students for a Mechanical Engineering Internship that provides hands-on experience in rapid prototyping and fabrication in a small production environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with engineering tasks, process improvements, prototyping and fabrication
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Mechanical Engineering or related Undergraduate Program
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficient with SolidWorks CAD tools
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, automation and software tools
- Basic knowledge and proficiency of hand tools and common shop equipment (drill press, band saw, deburring tools, taps and dies)
- Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others
- Capable of expressing ideas effectively and professionally to engineering and non-engineering audience
- US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands on experience with rapid prototyping methods such as Additive and Subtractive Manufacturing tools
- Experience building electronics related projects including wiring harnesses, enclosure fabrication and assembly
- Familiarity with working around electronic systems requiring ESD protection
