About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced leader to join our team as the Head, Trustee Operations at RHB Trustees Berhad. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the operational integrity, governance, and strategic growth of our trustee operations. You will lead a high-performing squad, ensuring effective risk management, regulatory compliance, and seamless business performance while driving continuous improvement and process automation. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, regulators, and clients to deliver exceptional value and achieve our group-wide objectives.
What you will be doing
Operational Leadership & Strategy: Lead the ideation and development of product strategies to enhance the Trustee business. Align with the Portfolio Lead on Tribe/Circle objectives, provide clear direction, and manage the team’s performance and outcomes.
Governance & Risk Management: Ensure prudent and efficient corporate governance, risk management, and compliance with all regulatory requirements. This includes managing CRA ratings, internal audit ratings, and ensuring all operational processes adhere to the highest standards.
Business Growth & Performance: Achieve PBT and Cost targets for Trustees. Manage operational service delivery quality and drive initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction.
Stakeholder Management: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, regulators, solicitors, and financial institutions to ensure seamless business performance and value delivery.
Process Improvement & Automation: Champion process automation and system enhancements, including documenting user requirements, system specifications, and conducting comprehensive User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Team Management & Development: Mentor and coach circle members to support their career development. Foster a culture of teamwork, high engagement, and continuous improvement. Oversee succession planning and manage team evaluations.
Operational Execution: Attend critical meetings (client meetings, MANCO, BOD), oversee the establishment of designated accounts, handle fee collection processes, and execute recovery actions against defaulting issuers. Maintain and update the Operations Manual.
What we're looking for
Professional Expertise: Proven experience in a leadership capacity within Trustee operations, corporate finance, or a related investment banking field.
Strategic & Analytical Thinking: Ability to translate strategic imperatives into actionable initiatives. Adept at solving complex problems in a logical, fact-driven manner.
Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of industry trends, guidelines, policies, rules, and regulations relevant to Trustee business and capital markets.
Leadership & Collaboration: A strong team player who can motivate and inspire others, work effectively with other leaders, and engage confidently with senior management.
Adaptability: Highly adaptable with the ability to respond to change quickly and leverage networks effectively to remove obstacles.
Technical Proficiency: Strong IT skills, specifically in system administration and digital transformation/automation projects.
Communication: Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills; able to listen actively and articulate views clearly.
