RESPEC is seeking an experienced Project Lead 3 to support a local SLED client in Austin, Texas. This is a senior-level project management role for a highly skilled professional with a strong background in leading complex data, analytics, and cloud initiatives within a large enterprise or government environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage full lifecycle of complex technical projects in data, analytics, and cloud environments
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, or Smartsheet
Coordinate across cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, data engineers, architects, and vendors
Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and report on financial performance
Facilitate Agile and/or waterfall project ceremonies including sprint planning, status meetings, and executive briefings
Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues proactively
Oversee data architecture, data modeling, and data warehousing initiatives from a project management perspective
Lead BI and big data project delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines
Support healthcare data initiatives and ensure compliance with relevant standards (FHIR, CCDA, HL7)
Serve as the primary point of contact between technical teams and business leadership
Produce and maintain project documentation, status reports, and executive dashboards
qualifications
Required Qualifications
PMP Certification — mandatory, non-negotiable
10+ years of experience leading technical projects in data, analytics, and cloud environments
10+ years of experience with data architecture, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts
10+ years of experience managing BI and big data projects end-to-end
10+ years of experience supporting healthcare data initiatives; familiarity with FHIR, CCDA, or HL7 a plus
10+ years of experience with SQL and database technologies
10+ years of experience managing project budgets and financial tracking
Proficiency with at least one of the following: Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, or Smartsheet
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and executive reporting skills
Preferred Qualifications
8+ years of experience in healthcare compliance, security, and data governance
3+ years of experience with AI, advanced analytics, or digital transformation initiatives
Additional project management or cloud certifications (e.g., PgMP, CSM, SAFe, AWS, Azure)
Prior experience supporting state or local government / SLED clients
Work Location
Hybrid — Austin, Texas
2 days onsite (Wednesdays & Fridays) / 3 days remote
Candidates must currently reside in Texas — no relocation candidates will be considered
