Accountant, General Ledger
Location: Resorts World Las Vegas
Summary Statement:
The Accountant, General Ledger is responsible for the day to day accounting entries, financial reporting, and monthly closing procedures, supporting the Manager of General Ledger. All responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with all laws and regulations, as well as Resorts World Las Vegas policies, practices, and procedures.
Primary Job Duties: Includes but is not limited to:
Generate accurate and timely monthly financial statements and take part in the month-end close process.
Ensure that proper documentation and audit evidence is organized and accounted for throughout the department.
Prepare journal entries and maintain balance sheet schedules and ledgers.
Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
Prepare internal reporting packages.
Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies.
Adhere to deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting and year-end audit preparation.
Obtain and maintain position-specific licensing.
Use personal device/cellular phone for job related operational tasks, job duties, review of company documents, etc.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Includes but not limited to:
At least two years of Accounting experience in a similar or related field.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Applications (example Word, Excel).
Working knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Proficient knowledge of General Ledger practices and protocol.
Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Ability to effectively communicate in English.
Polished appearance and demeanor.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
Preferred:
Working knowledge and experience with Systems Applications and Products in Data Processing (SAP).
Previous experience working in a large, luxury resort setting.
Minimum Education and Experience:
At least 18 years of age.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent experience in a related field; could be in progress.
Certificates, Licenses, Regulations:
Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
