Job Description
Summary: VALADON HOTEL LLC is a boutique hotel known for its warmth and charm, seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Host/Hostess for their service team at Petit Ermitage. The Host/Hostess will manage reservations, coordinate seating flow, and ensure exceptional service standards for guests upon arrival and departure.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a positive first impression for each and every guest to the Hotel
- Greet all guests with genuine warmth, professionalism, and a gracious demeanor upon arrival
- Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently, utilizing reservation systems and maintaining accurate seating charts
- Escort guests to tables while presenting menus and highlighting any special offerings
- Maintain clear communication with servers and management to ensure smooth table turnover and balanced service flow
- Monitor dining room activity to anticipate guest needs and support service teams as needed
- Answer phone calls promptly, providing accurate information regarding hours, availability, and restaurant offerings
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance area at all times
- Thank guests sincerely upon departure, inviting them to return for future visits
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including preparing menus, signage, and reservation logs
- Adhere to the highest standards of sanitation and safety, reflecting a commitment to excellence and guest well-being
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum one year experience as a Host/Hostess, guest services, or similar role preferred
- Guest-centric mindset with a passion for hospitality
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to remain composed and courteous in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Basic knowledge of reservation systems (e.g., OpenTable) is a plus
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend, push, pull, stand, walk, talk or hear
- Standing or walking during entire shift
- Flexible scheduling availability includes evenings, weekends, and holidays
