Downsizing Specialist

Summary: The Downsizers LLC is a leading full-service move management team specializing in serving the senior community and individuals in transition. The Downsizing Specialist role involves supporting clients through the downsizing and relocation process with compassion and professionalism, ensuring a positive experience during emotionally challenging transitions. Responsibilities: - Partner with the Downsizing Manager and Team Lead to implement customized Move Plans and timelines - Prepare for projects by reviewing job details, client and shift notes, and feed instructions before arriving on site to projects - Utilize project management tools to support timely and organized completion of work - Maintain ongoing communication in the project feed throughout the engagement - Recommendations on schedule changes should be communicated to the Project Manager through email (not the project feeds) - Provide the highest level of client service at all times - Assist clients in determining which items to keep, donate, gift, sell, or discard - Communicate clearly, compassionately, and professionally with clients and family members - Support clients through emotionally sensitive decisions with patience and care - Provide sorting services prior to the move utilizing various techniques provided in training to help support client decision-making - Confirm with the Team Lead or Project Manager for items that convey, as well as items for auction, consignment, donation, and/or junk hauling prior to pick ups to ensure all items are accurately and efficiently are removed and delivered to their proper locations - Professionally pack client belongings and prepare items for transport - Coordinate with movers and assist with unpacking and settling into new homes - Support organizing, placement of belongings, and home setup as directed - Drive 14-ft ProMaster High-Roof Van safely and responsibly, (training provided) modeling professionalism and care as a visible representative of The Downsizers’ brand - Load and unload supplies before and after projects - Handle supplies, equipment, and client property safely and responsibly - Accurately document required project information in systems - Maintain clear communication with the Downsizing Manager and Lead Specialist - Provide feedback and insights to leadership to support continuous improvement - Support development of new Downsizing Specialists with shadowing and learning opportunities - Complete required online, in-office, and on-site training programs - Participate in team meetings and collaborative planning sessions - Represent The Downsizers’ culture of compassion, collaboration, trust, critical thinking, joy, and exceptional service Required Qualifications: - High school diploma required - Strong interest in working with and supporting older adults and individuals in transition - Excellent attention to detail and strong critical-thinking skills - Clear verbal and written communication skills - Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse personalities - Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment - Comfortable using technology and internal tools - Team-oriented, teachable, adaptable, and collaborative - Ability to work 3 or more days per week for six or more hours per day - Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and perform physical work during shifts - Valid driver's license and comfort driving company vehicles Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree preferred Required Skills: Project Management Tools, Driving 14-ft ProMaster High-Roof Van, Packing and Unpacking, Client Service, Compassion Benefits: Medical, Dental, and Vision Benefits offered to employees that average 30+ hours per week, 401(k) Plan, Paid training, Paid Overtime, Paid Volunteer Opportunity towards Community Service, With advance planning, you can easily take vacations as needed or time off to be with your family., Mileage Reimbursement for client projects, Access to Trade Discounts
