Job Description
Summary: Regions Bank is dedicated to providing a supportive work environment for its associates. The Corporate Banking Analyst - Power & Utilities role involves analytical support for senior bankers, focusing on origination, underwriting, execution, and portfolio management of corporate banking products and services.
Responsibilities:
- Supports senior bankers by conducting research, staying abreast of client and industry trends, and participating in client and industry related strategic and tactical planning
- Prepares written material, including pitches, proposals, and client materials in preparation for client meetings
- Participates in client meetings, due diligence visits, and other client interactions during which they gain exposure to key executives and senior bankers
- Prepares underwriting materials for the credit approval process including credit screening memos and strategic approval memos with associated supporting analyses
- Conducts ongoing portfolio monitoring of an assigned portfolio of clients including preparation of credit monitoring memos
- Maintains proprietary databases through monitoring news, current events, transactions, and financial information for clients, prospects and other industry participants
- Understands client needs and identifies Regions’ products and services, or other unique, actionable ideas that can help clients achieve their goals
- Develops and maintains detailed financial models to value companies and depict projected financial results
- Ensures high quality client deliverables through strong written communication, presentation skills, and attention to detail
- Conducts extensive financial and industry due diligence to evaluate the risk/return parameters and mitigating factors of a transaction
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with proven record of high achievement
- Coursework in financial accounting and corporate finance
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, team-focused environment
- Advanced user of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Dedication towards excellence and achieving results
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Past relevant experience (i.e., summer internships or one (1) to two (2) years past experience)
