Job Description
Summary: RAL Companies & Affiliates LLC is seeking an organized and reliable Bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day financial operations for their real estate entities. The role involves handling the standard accounting cycle, implementing Bill.com for AP/AR workflow, and maintaining the QuickBooks system. Key responsibilities include bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the QuickBooks system of record, including the chart of accounts and vendor/customer maintenance
- Record AP payments and AR receipts for our various project entities
- Reconcile bank accounts and clear outstanding items on a regular basis
- Perform basic intercompany transfers, project draws, and journal entries
- Assist with the implementation and daily operation of Bill.com to streamline our AP/AR processes
- Process vendor invoices and payroll-related bills for our properties
- Issue payments via ACH, physical checks, and wires
- Manage standard tenant and utility billing
- Collect W-9s, prepare annual 1099s, and produce weekly cash summaries
- Process bi-weekly/semi-monthly payroll and record the corresponding journal entries
- Coordinate W-2 preparation and manage our relationship with Paychex
- Prepare monthly financial reports and provide documentation to our external CPAs for year-end close
Required Qualifications:
- Prior experience with QuickBooks Desktop and Bill.com is required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Prior professional bookkeeping experience is required
- Strong attention to detail, organized, and reliable
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with syncing the two platforms is highly preferred
- Real estate or property management experience is a plus
