Internship - Laser Systems

Summary: QuEra Computing Inc. is focused on the design, deployment, and operation of laser infrastructure for quantum processing units. The intern will contribute to a high-priority R&D project aimed at developing next-generation QPU laser systems, working on various technical tasks related to optical modulator systems and microwave modulation circuits. Responsibilities: - Set up and characterize multi-tone RF signal generation for high-speed optical modulator systems - Design and assemble a multi-channel optical modulator system, including optical and electronic integration - Build and test broadband microwave modulation circuits; evaluate RFSoC-based control architectures - Perform quantitative optical measurements and document results in internal technical reports Required Qualifications: - Pursuing or recently completed a degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, or a related field - Familiarity with FPGA and other embedded control systems - Hands-on optical alignment experience in a research lab setting is required - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills - Strong communication and teamwork skills - Strong evidence of independent work Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with RF/microwave electronics or electro-optic/acousto-optic modulators is a plus - Background in AMO physics or quantum optics preferred Required Skills: FPGA, Embedded control systems, RF/microwave electronics, Electro-optic modulators, Acousto-optic modulators, Optical alignment, AMO physics, Quantum optics
