At Qnity, we specialize in developing cutting-edge products that enhance performance and sustainability across various industries including semiconductor manufacturing, flexible electronics, and electric vehicles. Electronic Polymers is looking for an engineer to support our team’s commercialization of new products.
The successful applicant will have demonstrated good communication, be capable of executing multiple parallel workstreams, and have synthetic chemistry background with exposure to chemical process development, reaction engineering, engineering fundamentals, process control, and safety/hazards analysis. Preference will be given to individuals with hands on experience in chemical process development and scale-up.

This individual will:
Work within a global multi-disciplined Research and Development (R&D) team, focused on technology development and commercialization.
Set up organic/polymer synthesis processes, develop and execute safe operating procedures, and complete and/or supervise experiments and operations
Process and conduct data analysis by documenting, presenting, and communicating results and objectives to more senior members of the technology team.
Participate in the various stages of product development from concept through process demonstration and scale-up, to piloting and commercialization.
Prioritize and execute multiple workstreams in parallel with input from business and senior technical team members
Work in an environment that is continuously improving and evolving to meet the changing needs of our customers. The successful applicants will demonstrate the flexibility required to thrive in an R&D atmosphere where projects change from time to time.
Conduct lab audits, hold various group lab jobs, and help maintain common supplies
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability and desire to be an effective team member.
Exhibit attention to detail and rigorous documentation of observations, findings, and data using our digital platforms
Qualifications:
Proven ability to work safely.
Master’s degree or higher in the field of organic science.
Advanced organic synthesis capabilities with experience in designing unique molecular structures and exploration of novel synthetic routes.
Preferably has experience with various synthesis or polymerization techniques including but not limited to radical, cationic, anionic, step-growth.
Preferably has experience with the rigorous quality requirements of the electronics industry.
Strong interpersonal skills with an openness to learn new techniques.
Experience with process equipment and operations at lab and/or pilot scales.
Strong analytical, technical, computer and data analysis skills.
Excellent documentation and communication skills, both in English and Japanese.
Experience in developing strong team interactions.
