Job Description
Puzzle is redefining how companies navigate their financials. We've built modern, AI-powered accounting software that empowers accounting firms and the founders they serve with real-time, comprehensive financial insights. Our platform drafts books in real time, integrates natively with Stripe, Ramp, Mercury, Brex, Gusto, and more and delivers AI-powered analysis that goes far beyond traditional accounting systems. Accounting is relationship-driven. Startups are network-driven. As Puzzle scales, the way we win is through trust, presence, and relationships built in the room — across both the accounting firm community and the founder/VC ecosystem. We're hiring a Field & Community Marketing Manager who is already embedded in the SF startup and venture ecosystem — with strong personal relationships across founders, investors, and operators — and who is ready to build that same depth of presence in the accounting firm world. Every activation, partnership, and community program you run is expected to generate pipeline, drive meetings, and move revenue. You'll be measured like a revenue owner, not just a marketer. What We’re Looking For You will own strategy and execution across field events, community programs, social media, and ecosystem relationships — for both of Puzzle's core segments: accounting firms and founders/SMBs. Accounting firm decision-makers are concentrated at a small number of industry events and community touchpoints — and showing up consistently, credibly, and with the right relationships is how we win there. The founder and VC ecosystem is the second critical channel, and your existing network is a core asset from day one. You'll work closely with Sales and Marketing to ensure every activation has clear objectives, structured follow-up, and measurable ROI. This is a remote role and day-to-day work can be done from home. However, candidates based in the San Francisco Bay Area will be preferred, as the role includes regular participation in startup and fintech ecosystem events, relationship-building within the community, and occasional hosting opportunities. Willingness to travel for conferences, events, and speaking engagements outside of San Francisco is also required. WHAT YOU'LL OWN Field Events & Experiential Marketing Accounting firm leaders evaluate vendors and make switching decisions at a concentrated set of industry events — and we need to show up properly, consistently, and with a plan to convert. - Own Puzzle's presence and activation strategy at key accounting conferences - Plan and execute premium experiences across both segments: executive dinners, founder roundtables, VC-hosted events, accounting firm peer gatherings, and accelerator community meetups - Build repeatable, scalable playbooks for dinners, webinars, roundtables, and field programs that Sales can activate across markets - Own the full event lifecycle: concept, sourcing, logistics, vendor management, budget, and post-event Sales handoff - Every event must be targeted, brand-elevating, and tied to meetings booked and pipeline created — not just attendance Community Building - Launch and scale structured community programs for both accounting leaders and startup operators - Build engagement loops that go beyond one-time events: recurring dinners, peer networks, office hours, and champion programs - Identify, nurture, and activate customer advocates who amplify Puzzle organically across their networks - Represent Puzzle in rooms where accounting leaders and founders are making decisions about their tools Social Media, Podcast & Brand Amplification You will build and run Puzzle's organic presence end to end. - Own and grow Puzzle's social presence across LinkedIn and X, speaking credibly to both the accounting firm world and the founder/VC audience - Own the marketing and distribution of media— develop the content rhythm, grow the audience, and turn it into a demand channel - Build a consistent content rhythm: customer stories, event moments, partner milestones, ecosystem conversations, and product highlights - Turn every event and community activation into real-time social proof — amplifying in the moment, not just recapping after - Ensure tone reflects a premium, modern brand that resonates with sophisticated operators and accounting professionals alike Ecosystem Relationships - Build and grow Puzzle's presence across the founder and accounting ecosystems: venture capital firms, startup accelerators (YC, a16z, Techstars, On Deck, etc.), fintech platforms, accounting networks, and CAS communities - Collaborate with native integration partners — Ramp, Mercury, Gusto, Stripe and others — on shared field initiatives for both firms and founders - Build structured, co-branded event programs with clear pipeline attribution - Represent Puzzle externally with credibility across both communities Revenue & ROI — Non-Negotiable - Define and own success metrics across every program: meetings booked, pipeline sourced and influenced, event ROI, community engagement - Build clear Sales handoff processes post-event and post-activation — warm introductions, not cold leads dropped in a spreadsheet - Report performance to GTM leadership with honest, data-driven analysis - Continuously optimize the mix — more of what drives pipeline, less of what doesn't WHO YOU ARE - 5–8+ years in field marketing, community, or ecosystem marketing in B2B SaaS - You have existing relationships in the SF and/or NYC founder and VC ecosystem — you know the partners at the accelerators, the operators in the communities, the people who host the dinners - You may already have relationships within accounting networks and CAS communities — if not, you're someone who builds credibility fast and is genuinely excited to own that world - Proven track record producing high-quality, executive-level events with measurable revenue outcomes - Experience owning ecosystem or partner event programs — not just attending partner calls, but driving the relationship and the results - Comfortable owning both strategy and execution — you can concept a dinner series and manage the venue vendor in the same week - Strong project management, budget ownership, and vendor coordination skills - Social-savvy: you understand how accounting professionals and founders consume content and can write and publish compellingly for both - Based in San Francisco or Bay Area and willing to travel regularly for events and industry engagements Nice to Have - Experience at a fintech, vertical SaaS, AI, or back-office tools company - Background working directly with accelerators, VC firms, or founder communities in a marketing or partnerships capacity - Existing relationships in the accounting firm or CAS community is a strong plus WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU? Join Puzzle Financial at a pivotal growth stage where you'll help redefine and reimagine how companies handle their financials while building your career in a flexible, remote-first environment.
