Job Description
Summary: Publix Super Markets, Inc., the largest employee-owned company in the U.S., is driven by a dynamic technology team delivering innovative solutions. The Associate Software Engineer will be responsible for application development and support for systems under the Vendor Portal and Asset Protection areas, ensuring efficient workflows and compliance with standards.
Responsibilities:
- Continuously improve vendor portal systems to enhance supplier experience and streamline purchasing processes
- Deliver robust solutions for Money Services and Loss Prevention to safeguard assets and reduce shrink
- Provide excellent customer service to our suppliers and internal users by responding to their queries, resolving issues
- Provide production support following a rotating on-call schedule; around every 4-5 weeks, and when the need arises
- Create knowledge articles and standard operating procedures for new and changing support tasks
- Monitor system health and triage issues. Troubleshoot application software service, batch job issues and escalating issues to other engineering teams as needed
- Work with Azure DevOps pipelines and code repositories to deploy new versions of the Vendor Portal and Asset Protection systems
- Execute maintenance tasks on applications and batch jobs running on PPC (Publix Private Cloud) or On Prem servers and run on-demand data load and other jobs
- Develop automation solutions, such as scripts, pipelines, and batch jobs, to reduce manual or repeatable tasks
- Complete security related tasks, such as renewing secrets and certificates
- Ability to provide 24/7 production support following a rotating on-call schedule; approximately every 4-5 weeks, and when the need arises
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related analytical field or equivalent experience
- Full stack development experience using Angular and C#
- Experience developing and testing APIs using Swagger, Client tools like Bruno/Postman, and web-based front ends
- Knowledge of Azure cloud services like PaaS and SaaS offerings, compute, networking, data, storage, and monitoring solutions
- Understanding of software lifecycle management (SDLC)
- Knowledge of web applications, database systems, TCP/IP networking, and Web API in public cloud or on-premises environments
- Experience with Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience with distributed application systems
- 1+ years of experience with Azure cloud platform, including Azure/MS SQL Databases, Application Services, Storage Accounts, and Key Vaults
- Familiarity with Azure networking, such as Virtual Networks, Subnets, Azure Firewall, Front Door, Traffic Manager, Application Gateway, and Azure API Management Services
- Azure and/or Dynatrace monitoring and alert development and deployment
- Troubleshooting application issues using Developer tools, Azure Application Insights, Log Analytics, Dynatrace, and/or Splunk
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, deployment pipelines, code repositories, branching
- Familiarity with SSL certificates and certificate management
