Job Description
Summary: Phipps Neighborhoods is seeking a motivated IT Help Desk Intern to join their team. This internship is designed for students or recent graduates to develop hands-on skills in IT support, troubleshooting, and system administration while working closely with experienced IT professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in troubleshooting basic hardware, software, and network issues under supervision
- Provide first-level support for Microsoft 365, email, printers, and other IT services
- Help with installing and configuring desktops, laptops, and mobile devices (Windows/Mac)
- Document support requests using an IT ticketing system and escalate when needed
- Assist with user account management (Active Directory, password resets, access requests)
- Support mobile device management (MDM/UEM) platforms such as Workspace ONE UEM
- Participate in IT projects, including hardware upgrades and system rollouts
- Learn and apply cybersecurity best practices to keep systems and data secure
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate solutions effectively to non-technical users
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Computer Science, Information Technology, or related program
- Basic knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Microsoft 365 applications
- Interest in IT troubleshooting, networking, and security concepts
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with IT support (even from school projects or personal experience) is a plus!
