The Compliance Intern will assist with administrative and compliance-related projects to support OWL Services’ Compliance business unit. This internship provides hands-on experience with employment documentation, regulatory compliance, driver qualification records, and customer reporting systems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to communicate professionally with employees and management.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct an audit of employee Form I-9 records for OWL Services’ Compliance business unit.
o Identify missing, incomplete, or incorrect documentation.
o Assist with obtaining and correcting required forms and supporting documents to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
2. Perform an audit of Technician driver qualification records, including driver’s licenses and DOT medical cards.
o Verify that all required documents are current and properly maintained.
o Notify employees and management of expired or missing documentation.
o Follow up with updated documents as needed.
3. Report dirty fuel samples to 7-Eleven using the Contractor Fuel Sample Reporting Portal.
o Accurately enter and maintain reporting information.
o Track submissions and maintain organized records of reported incidents.
4. Maintain organized electronic and paper records while ensuring confidentiality of employee information.
5. Assist with additional administrative or compliance-related projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled, or recent graduate of a college or university program, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with data entry or administrative support.
• Familiarity with employment or compliance documentation is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time.
• Occasional lifting of files or office materials up to 10 pounds.
