Job Description
Summary: OSF HealthCare is dedicated to providing comprehensive total rewards for its Mission Partners. The Accountant I is responsible for completing accounting tasks across various functional areas including cash, investments, payroll, and fixed assets, as well as performing account reconciliations and supporting audit requests.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for completing accounting for specific functional areas, which includes but is not limited to cash, investments, debt, payroll, accruals, fixed assets, leases, and non-patient billing
- Responsible for various tasks such as account reconciliations, monthly close activities, internal and external audit requests, cost report requests, and other projects related to these functional areas
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in finance, accounting (including GAAP), and effective internal controls
- Demonstrated strong project management and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 year of accounting experience
