Manufacturing Engineering Intern

Summary: Onto Innovation is a leader in process control, providing advanced technologies in the semiconductor industry. The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will support the MFG team with continuous improvement projects, including space optimization, gowning protocols, and documentation development. Responsibilities: - Supporting the MFG team with continuous improvement projects - Cleaning, organizing, and implementing lean practices - Defining, training, posting signage and generating procedures for gowning protocols - Identifying gaps and implementing solutions to eliminate cardboard in the cleanroom - Cleaning out non utilized materiel form the cleanroom and all MFG areas during red tag events - Implement signage for clear labeling of work areas under Visual MFG (AKA 5S) - Define workspaces and tooling - Define workflow – Materiel in vs out - Work with MFG technicians to develop documentation for final test docs - Support MFG by following up on urgent materiel requests and getting parts to the line ASAP as a part runner (Material expeditor) - Maintain/update/create PICO work instructions - Support implementation of new bulk management process for BOM routings Required Qualifications: - You should be an undergraduate junior or senior, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in related field - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Strong communication and interpersonal skills Required Skills: Analytical skills Benefits: Health, dental, and vision coverage, Life and disability insurance, PTO, 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Wellness initiatives
