Child Welfare Specialist IV - H23D
Annual Salary: $52,217.89 + Full State Employee Benefits
Applicants who possess a Master's Degree in Social Work will be entitled to a salary incentive of an additional 5%.
On-call positions will receive an additional bonus ranging from $100 to $150 every two weeks, depending on responsibilities.
Travel is EXTENSIVE. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain required car insurance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree plus one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist
- OR a Bachelors Degree plus two years experience as a Child Welfare Specialist
- OR Three years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.
Job Responsibilities
- Serves as a Child Welfare facility liaison to residential psychiatric facilities including onsite visits with youth, consultations with treatment teams, responding to facility concerns and providing guidance around Child Welfare process and practice.
- Coordinates treatment and discharge planning with Child Welfare teams including notifying and supporting child welfare teams when youth are abandoned at facilities to state custody.
- Coordinates between the Office of Client Advocacy (OCA), facility and CWS leadership when a referral is assigned to investigate potential abuse and neglect regarding a child in an assigned facility.
- Requires extensive knowledge of child welfare policy and practice, oral and written communication skills, and frequent travel statewide.
- Serves as part of a broader team supporting youth in facility care.
