Job Description
Summary: Ohio Department of Youth Services is seeking an Administrative Professional 4 to work in the OPERATIONS Team at Indian River Juvenile Correctional Facility. This role provides high-level administrative and operational support, managing data and ensuring compliance with state and national standards.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the designee for the Juvenile Correctional Operations Administrator, making independent decisions and interpreting policies to resolve issues and complete assignments
- Maintain accurate youth records, staff attendance, call‑offs, post information, and incident reports within JJCMS and other DYS systems
- Process institutional releases and AWL documentation, ensuring proper forms, signatures, scanning, and staff notifications
- Review population and movement sheets and enter appropriate movements in JJCMS
- Coordinate LAP and PD requests, including logging, scanning, emailing representatives, and arranging youth escorts
- Prepare complex and confidential correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, charts, and data visualizations
- Support the Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, and Operations Administrators with administrative tasks as needed
- Research and analyze programs, procedures, and policies; develop proposals, plans, and recommendations for leadership
- Manage business functions of the Operations Office and coordinate special programs, projects, and auxiliary functions
- Perform public relations duties, respond to inquiries and complaints, and provide program information to the public
- Assist with Performance‑Based Standards (PbS) and American Correctional Association (ACA) data collection
Required Qualifications:

- Or completion of associate core coursework in secretarial science or business office applications from accredited career school or community college; 12 mos. exp. in secretarial/administrative professional field
