Job Description
Summary: Oatey Company, established in 1916, is a leading provider of high-quality products for the plumbing industry. They are seeking a Purchasing Analyst I to review and analyze raw material requirements, issue and maintain purchase orders, and collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials for production demands.
Responsibilities:
- Utilizes SAP to issue purchase order to suppliers: Buyers should be familiar with the purchasing SOP/method for his/her assigned site/commodities suppliers
- Follows up on past due PO’s and work with supplier to hone in delivery of material to meet production demands
- Buyer will need to expedite material from supplier if necessary
- Utilizes basic spreadsheets and SAP to: analyze raw material usage, days/weeks on hand, and to determine root causes of raw material outages and purchase order receiving discrepancies
- Maintains rapport and a solid business relationship with assigned vendors
- Works with Sourcing team to: resolve PO pricing issues; various other issues regarding raw material
- Reduces total cost through the optimization of order management, routing of shipments and consolidation of supply between suppliers while meeting fill rate and inventory requirements
- Support payables process in troubleshooting invoice non-match resolution
Required Qualifications:
- Work experience utilizing MRP / DRP / MPS in ERP software packages
- Focused / Detail oriented work style producing comprehensive work
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- High competency level with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Demonstrated Interpersonal / Collaborative skills and ability
- One (1) to three (3) years relevant job experience within a manufacturing environment
- Ability to generate Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP formulas in Excel
- Associates Degree in Business or related field, or relevant equivalent experience in lieu of degree
Preferred Qualifications:
- SAP working experience preferred
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
