Plumbing Multi-Family Designer Auto-CAD - Entry Level

Summary: RICE Services Inc. is looking to hire an organized, professional entry level JR. Multi-Family Plumbing Engineer to join their team. The role involves assisting in the design and development of plumbing systems for multi-family residential projects, collaborating with senior engineers, and supporting project documentation and compliance with plumbing codes. Responsibilities: - Assist in the design and development of plumbing systems for multi-family residential projects - Collaborate with senior engineers to prepare detailed plumbing plans and specifications - Conduct site visits to gather data and assist in the assessment of existing plumbing systems - Support in the preparation of project documentation and reports - Participate in project meetings and contribute to the discussion of plumbing solutions - Assist in the calculation of water supply and drainage requirements - Learn and apply relevant codes and standards to ensure compliance in all plumbing designs - Work closely with other engineering disciplines to coordinate plumbing system integration - Provide support in the preparation of cost estimates and project budgets - Assist in the review of contractor submittals and shop drawings for accuracy and compliance - Conduct research on new plumbing technologies and materials for potential project applications - Support in troubleshooting plumbing system issues and recommend potential solutions - Maintain organized project files and documentation for easy access and review Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field - 1-2 years of experience in plumbing design or engineering, preferably in multi-family residential projects - Basic understanding of plumbing systems and codes (e.g., IPC, UPC) - Proficiency in AutoCAD and Excel - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Excellent communication and teamwork abilities - Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy - Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively - Eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment - Valid driver's license for site visits, if required Preferred Qualifications: - Familiarity with BIM software such as Revit is a plus Required Skills: AutoCAD, Plumbing design Important Skills: BIM software, Mechanical engineering Nice-to-Have Skills: Communication skills, Problem-solving skills, Detail-oriented, Teamwork abilities, Time management
