Research Study Assistant

Summary: Northwestern University is seeking a Research Study Assistant to perform biomedical and social-behavioral research. The role involves recruiting study participants, conducting interviews, collecting data, and maintaining detailed records while adhering to Good Clinical Practices and relevant regulations. Responsibilities: - Recruits study participants - Reviews & obtains informed consent - Schedules study visits with participants - Conducts interviews - Scores test results - Collects survey data - Reviews medical records - Consults with nurses & physicians to determine pretreatment & eligibility requirements of protocol from completion to registration of participants - Facilitates communication with key personnel & participants to maintain project study flow - Maintains detailed records of results which may include collecting, extracting & entering data; &/or preparing basic charts & graphs - Performs scientific literature searches in support of research - Completes portions of grant applications &/or documents associated with current local, state, & federal regulatory guidelines, requirements, laws & research protocols - May process reimbursements for travel expenses - Monitors & distribute petty cash - Processes invoices &/or purchase requisitions - Coordinates fund distribution among multiple sponsors and clinical sites - May train other research staff to interview/test participants - Performs other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: - A bachelor's degree in a social or health science + no experience or 2 years practical research study or related experience is required - Must complete NU's IRB CITI training before interacting with any participants & must re-certify every 3 years Required Skills: Clinical Practices (GCP), Institutional Review Board (IRB) CITI training, Biomedical research, Social-behavioral research, Informed consent, Data collection, Medical record review, Scientific literature search, Grant application documentation Benefits: Health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, Paid vacation and holidays, Paid medical/sick and parental leave, Tuition benefits for the employee and dependents, Pre-tax and flex spending accounts for commuting and dependent care, Generous retirement savings options, Wellness programs, Flexible work arrangements where possible, Programs to help you locate and pay for quality, affordable childcare and senior/adult care
