Job Description
Summary: Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Nuclear Surety Systems Engineer for our Strategic Deterrent Systems Division in Roy, UT. The role involves ensuring the safety and security of nuclear weapons through systems engineering expertise, including the design, integration, and testing of next-generation ICBM weapon systems.
Responsibilities:
- Perform decomposition of Department of Defense safety manuals into requirements and allocating them to design teams for implementation
- Provide systems engineering expertise to the design, integration, and testing of a next generation ICBM weapon system
- Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification, validation, cost, risk, supportability, and analysis for mechanical, electrical, and integrated systems
- Evaluate the physical security design based on the Department of Defense Safety manuals
- Interface directly with various compartments of the Department of Defense and Department of Energy to ensure safe design and operation of nuclear weapon systems
- Use model based engineering tools on a major weapon system to pioneer a new way to evaluate and analyze modern design
- Learn a niche discipline that spans all aspects of Nuclear Power and Munitions
Required Qualifications:
- Be completing or has completed their degree (Bachelor's or Master's) from an accredited institution
- Be majoring in or having majored in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Nuclear Engineering
- Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher
- Current active Secret Security Clearance or higher
