Job Description
Summary: NorthBay Health is an independent, nonprofit health system dedicated to improving community well-being through accessible, high-quality care. The intern will gain exposure to real-life business situations in the Human Resources Department, participate in operations practice activities, and support strategic initiatives while working under the supervision of a mentor.
Responsibilities:
- Interact with staff in the department, spending time with each major area and observing what and how work is performed
- Participate in activities and initiatives related to operations practice, supporting strategic initiatives as they relate to continuity of service, compliance, regulatory and professional standards
- Foster collaborative interdisciplinary relationships as well as offering support for strategic service line needs
- Additional duties will be assigned to the Intern based on level of understanding of practice management responsibilities
Required Qualifications:
- Enrolled and/or Completion of Baccalaureate Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration Management or Human Resources is preferred
- None required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook requires excellent oral and written communication skills required
- Must be well organized, be able to set priorities, work independently as an effective team member
- Demonstrates effective time management skills
- Must have critical thinking skills and be open to learning
- Individual must be highly collaborative, be willing to assume new responsibilities as needed, accept accountability, build effective relationships, and operate effectively under pressure
- Confidence, integrity, skilled communications, and a sense of humor are also essential
- Maintains the utmost confidentiality related to items from the work setting
- Appearance is professional
