Job Description
Summary: North Clackamas Schools is seeking a High School Teacher for their CTE - Engineering Technology program for the 2026-2027 school year. The Engineering Technology Teacher will be responsible for developing course curriculum, fostering a supportive learning environment, and ensuring student safety while teaching various engineering courses.
Responsibilities:
- The Engineering Technology Teacher is responsible for the ongoing development of course curriculum and assessment, fostering a supportive learning environment that emphasizes student learning and safety. They will teach the following Engineering courses: Robotics and Automation, Digital Electronics, Computer Aided Design (CAD) & Programming
- Developing industry partners & work-based learning opportunities
- Planning & facilitating Advisory Board meetings
- Developing and implementing the program budget
- Documentation for Advanced College Credit (in partnership with a local Community College)
- Sourcing & ordering industry standard supplies, tools and equipment
Required Qualifications:
- Must have Engineering Technology Industry experience
- Must hold or be willing to obtain Oregon CTE teaching license with Engineering Technology Endorsement
- Must have or meet the requirements for Oregon CTE Teaching License with an Engineering Technology Endorsement
- Degree in Engineering Technology, a related field, or equivalent professional experience in the Engineering/Robotics industry
- Experience with building and programming systems like VEX and Arduino, understanding of circuit simulation (Multisim) and breadboarding, experience with Autodesk Fusion 360 and SolidWorks, and familiarity with commonly used programming languages in engineering, such as C++ and Python
- Evidence of continuous professional learning and a commitment to participate in professional growth opportunities and self-reflection on professional practice
- Demonstrated content knowledge for subjects/levels being taught
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with families, students, and staff
- Commitment to effective collaboration and teaming within a professional learning community
- Skill in classroom management and ability to achieve, support, and maintain acceptable student behavior
- Knowledge of and ability to use appropriate and multiple assessment, instruction, and evaluation techniques
- Knowledge of child and adolescent development and ability to apply that knowledge to the selection and application of curriculum materials and instructional practices
- Knowledge and skill in the use of strategies necessary to meet the diverse needs of students
- Knowledge and skill in culturally responsive teaching and learning
- Skill and ability to utilize technology to aid instruction, assessment and learning
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual Spanish/English
- Experience working with people of diverse backgrounds
- Ability to engage and ignite passion in students to have a desire and passion to design
- Successful experience working with high-school aged youth
- Strong technical skills in circuit design and troubleshooting
