The Role:
We are seeking an intern to join our Music Royalty team in our Encino, CA office. In this role, you will perform and learn music royalty procedures in a team-oriented, fast-paced work environment with our Music Royalty department.
What You Will Do:
• Assist in preparing complex artist, producer, profit participation, and mechanical statements under the direction of music royalty team members.
• Participate in preparing analytical reports and income allocation schedules.
• Learn to review contracts and licenses to ensure reported royalties are accurate.
• Meet reporting deadlines while maintaining a professional attitude.
• Complete other royalty-related duties and projects as assigned.
What You Need To Succeed:
• Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Self-motivation and excellent organization skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Friendly and professional attitude.
• Ability to work well with a team and pitch in when needed.
• High school diploma.
• Current enrollment as a rising 3rd or 4th year university student or graduate school student, pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.
What Will Set You Apart:
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Accounting/royalty experience in the music industry.
• Knowledge of Record Maestro, Curve, or other music royalty software.
Physical Requirements:
• The role requires standing, walking, crouching, and lifting up to 15 pounds.
• The position involves frequent use of hands as well as reaching with hands and arms.
• The employee will regularly be required to talk, hear, see, and sit.
• The work environment may involve a moderate to loud noise level.
Salary Range:
The salary range for this role is ($22 - $24 per hour) and represents the firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, and location.
