NielsenIQ is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Financial Services Engineering team.
At NIQ, the Financial Services team uses alternative datasets to help global public equity investors (hedge funds, mutual funds, pension funds) make better investment decisions. We work with some of the largest hedge funds in the world. As a Software Engineer you will be at the cutting edge of the alternative data space where you will help develop tools for our data platform to help our Financial Services team glean valuable insights from a large set of diverse data sets.
The ideal candidate has strong software design and programming experience, with some expertise in cloud computing, and big data technologies, and strong communication and management skills. You will be part of a diverse, flexible, and collaborative environment where you will be able to apply and develop your skills and knowledge working with unique data and exciting applications. Our Software Engineering platform is based in Java, React, Spring Boot, Mongo, Postgres and Snowflake, and we continue to adopt the best of breed in cloud-native, low-latency technologies.

Responsibilities
Develop and maintain microservices, APIs, and backend services using Java and Spring Boot to support data engineering pipelines and data access.
Build interactive user interfaces using React for data visualization, reporting, and monitoring tools.
Building, deploying, and monitoring applications and services into AWS/Azure/GCP cloud environment.
Leverage multiple first- and third-party data sources and develop highly efficient data access RESTful APIs against data stored in Relational and NoSQL databases.
Troubleshoot and debug complex software issues and ensure the reliability and performance of data systems.
qualifications
Strong fundamentals in software engineering, including proficiency in Java and JS React framework.
Solid understanding of event-driven and microservices architecture.
Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases.
Working knowledge of AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Computing
Strong experience with Software Engineering / CS fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms.
5+ years of relevant software engineering experience
Minimum B.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field
