Job Description
Summary: The New York City Housing Development Corporation (HDC) is a public benefit corporation and the nation’s largest municipal Housing Finance Agency. The Strategic Operations Intern will work with colleagues to identify and implement solutions to strategic issues, gaining experience in analyzing and managing complex problems across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends and challenges
- Conduct detailed financial statement analysis
- Apply econometrics and causal inference to test hypotheses
- Build data models to quantify problems and solutions
- Create presentations for leadership and partner engagement
- Assess and adapt tools to support new strategic goals
- Support idea development, stakeholder engagement, and project management
Required Qualifications:
- Advanced skills in financial modeling or statistical analysis
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- 4+ years of professional experience in: Real estate finance, Quantitative analysis, Economics, Equity/debt research, Financial, planning, and analysis (FP&A), Quantitative public policy analysis, Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA, master's degree in a quantitative discipline, or other graduate degree
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Advanced proficiency in at least one analytics framework (e.g., R, Python, Stata, SAS)
