About the Role:
We are looking for a highly qualified and collaborative Scientist to join our Lead Generation Biology team to work across multiple functional teams to develop, qualify and perform MSD immunoassays, flow cytometry and cell-based assays to screen, characterize and identify lead biologic therapeutic and platform candidates. The position requires excellent scientific, technical and laboratory experience and skills with strong organizational and communication skills to effectively interact across teams in delivering high-quality, fit-for-purpose, decision-making data to project teams. The individual will be responsible for documenting protocols and regularly presenting clear written and verbal data summaries. The work is fast-paced and process-oriented in an environment where efficiency and continuous improvement are integral goals.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):
Design and develop fit-for-purpose immunoassays to evaluate in vitro and ex vivo samples for relevant analytes in a non-regulated environment to support antibody discovery and platform programs. Apply bioanalytical principles to assay development and qualification aligned with intended use. Use strong scientific insight to guide method development, in collaboration with project, translational, and in vivo teams to generate key data to drive decisions for therapeutic and platform programs
Screen diverse antibody panels to advance programs through critical stage gates by generating and delivering high-quality, relevant data. Use your expertise in immunoassays, BLI, cell-based assays, and/or flow cytometry to design and implement impactful assays in collaboration with project teams. Apply your scientific and technical knowledge, along with an understanding of project objectives, to identify relevant, translatable, and fit-for-purpose methods that support lead candidate selections
Employ best practices in data and statistical analysis, QC and documentation to support generation of high-quality, reproducible, and physiologically relevant data. Must be familiar with common data analysis methods and software, such as Prism, Spotfire, Microsoft Office, ELN, etc.
Work independently and within cross-functional teams to manage and deliver on multiple projects without compromising data quality. Leverage strong time-management and organizational skills, with your scientific expertise, to understand project needs and deliver timely results that support team objectives
Requirements:
BS/BA degree in scientific field and 2+ years of in vitro pharmacology experience; Preferred experience includes: primary cell culture, especially CNS, and related assay development, liquid handling automation and LIMS systems, GPCRs and related in vitro assays OR
MS/MA degree in scientific field and some relevant industry experience OR
PhD in biology or related field preferred and some experience with cell culture and cell-based in vitro assays, development and optimization of in vitro biological assays is required Preferred experience includes: primary cell culture, especially CNS, and related assay development, liquid handling automation and LIMS systems, GPCRs and related in vitro assays OR
Independently plan, develop, and execute basic experiments with ability to own the process from end-to-end
Apply independent thinking to solve problems with consistency
Good knowledge of scientific principles, methods, techniques, and demonstrated ability to work with a variety of laboratory equipment/tools
Takes direction regarding experiments or lab processes and learns to apply independent thinking to resolve technical issues
Understand how to think outside of the technical process and consider the impact decisions will have on the broader scientific goals
Ability to work as part of a team as a trusted and impactful scientific and technical collaborator and contributor
Ability to train junior scientists to efficiently delivery on team goals
Ability to meet deadlines with high-quality and impactful results
Detail oriented with good organization, communication, problem-solving, analytical thinking skills
Good project management skills

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $89,800.00-$123,000.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 20% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
