Job Description
Summary: The NCAA is a premier collegiate athletic organization, and they are seeking a Championships and Sports Administration Intern. This internship will provide the opportunity to receive sports administration education and training while assisting with championships and sport administration tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the Conference’s Championships. Examples of associated tasks include: Administration and execution of assigned championships
- Participate in championships planning meetings and conference calls, as appropriate
- Liaison to championship vendors (e.g., championship gifts apparel, hospitality, digital signage, credentials, insurance, etc.)
- Assist with implementation of annual marketing and branding strategy at championship events
- Coordinator and on-site contact for all WCC Championship officials for sports assigned
- Create and execute staff supply lists/requests and ship supplies to appropriate addresses
- Active engagement with regular season and championship policies and procedures
- Assist with the production of championship-related events, collateral, and signage
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams regarding external affairs, and sponsorship fulfillment at championship events
- Help with the ordering and delivery of awards
- Support NCAA automatic qualification notifications
- Provide notes and meeting recaps following head coaches’ meetings
- Execute research projects assigned by the Associate and Assistant Commissioner
- Assist with sport administration at the Conference. Examples of associated tasks include: Develop materials for head coaches’ and other sport administrative meetings
- Monitor and track sport conduct violations
- Assist on some areas of conference officiating programs
- Other projects and responsibilities based on areas of interest and experience
Required Qualifications:
- Some College
- Demonstrated high-level proficiency in Microsoft programs (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
- Effective professional communication, both orally and in writing. Proficiency in drafting and editing written communications
- The candidate must be able to lift at least 30 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience with the WCC's core values of integrity, servant leadership, inclusion, excellence, innovation, communication, and collaboration
- Demonstrated enrollment toward, or completion of, a Bachelor's, Master's, or equivalent degree required
- Athletics administration and/or sports management experience or related volunteer experience preferred
- Proficiency and experience with Apple computers and Adobe Creative Suite preferred
- Working knowledge of intercollegiate athletics, the West Coast Conference, and its institutions' programs and/or higher education preferred
- Access to a reliable internet connection
