Job Description
Summary: NCAA is seeking an Athletic Compliance Intern to provide essential support to the athletic department staff and student-athletes. The intern will monitor compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional rules, assist in student-athlete development, and support various administrative tasks within the compliance team.
Responsibilities:
- Track and monitor various activities to ensure compliance, including but not limited to countable athletically related activities (CARA) and related workflow processes
- Assist in determining and monitoring initial and continuing eligibility status of student athletes, and maintaining related records
- Maintain and file compliance-related forms and student-athlete files, ensuring all required documentation remains current and accurately stored with the use of internal and external compliance software systems
- Help develop and deliver educational materials and presentations on NCAA rules for coaches, staff, student-athletes, and boosters to ensure regulations are understood and followed
- Conduct research on NCAA bylaws and provide support for rules interpretations, waivers, and violation reports
- Provide general administrative assistance to the compliance department, such as data entry, preparing reports, and attending departmental meetings and conference calls
- Assist Director of Career Services (on-campus) with initiatives, programs, and services to enhance career development resources for student-athletes, such as organizing career fairs, identifying internships and volunteer opportunities, resume-building workshops, and connections with local and national employers, as well as alumni networks
- Serve as an advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), fostering leadership, community service, and student-athlete representation within the NCAA governance structure
- Create and coordinate programming focusing on mental health, alcohol and drug awareness, sexual assault prevention, financial literacy, and social responsibility
Required Qualifications:
- 4 Year Degree
- Effective listening skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to complete tasks with accuracy despite frequent interruptions
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language
- Proficiency in the use of basic computer applications relevant to job duties
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree preferred
