Job Description
Summary: Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck Dealership and Leasing group. They are seeking a Body Shop Apprentice Intern to provide on-the-job training while enrolled in a vocational/trade school collision repair program, performing light parts removal and paint preparation under supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Performs assigned job functions under close supervision of a Foreman, Leadman, Supervisor or designated competent fellow employee
- Gains work related knowledge and experience through on-the-job training and formal off-site training while attending school
- Maintains a neat and orderly work area and properly handles company tools and equipment
- Abides by all company and school policies
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
Required Qualifications:
- Standing over 50% of time to perform repair work and complete repair paperwork
- Lift and carry 75 pounds of parts, tools, supplies and various types of equipment
- Maximum lift of 105 pounds of parts, tools or equipment
- Push/pull wrenches to tighten and loosen bolts, vices, tool chests, ladders up to 75 pounds
- Kneel, squat and stoop 1/3 of the time to obtain positions to fix machines and equipment
- Climb up and down stairs and ladders 1/3 of the time to repair and prep equipment
- Reach below knees to pick up parts, tools, equipment, supplies, reach items to repair, using tools and lowering parts to the floor
- Reaching to shoulder using tools, to set items on tables (34"), to reach items to be repaired, putting parts into machines
- Reaching above shoulder using tools, placing parts into machines, pulling air hose, swinging lighter sledge hammers (8 pounds), operate air tools including but not limited to; impact wrenches, sanders, and air hammers
