Resilient Communications Intern

Summary: MITRE is a not-for-profit corporation focused on tackling the nation's toughest challenges in various fields including cybersecurity and defense. The Resilient Communications Intern will work on modernizing communications systems and developing next-generation capabilities for the United States military and international partners. Responsibilities: - You will leverage an understanding of wireless communications, networking, digital signal processing (DSP, modeling and simulation, or other similar technical disciplines - You will apply hands-on skills such as utilizing RF laboratory test equipment, software defined radios (SDRs), and/or software skills such as MATLAB, C++, Python, SQL, Systems Tool Kit (STK) or similar modeling tools - You will support various projects depending on your skills, development goals, and sponsor needs to provide the United States military and international partners the tools and capabilities they need to succeed - Previous internship experiences have included tactical waveform characterization and assessments, radio interoperability studies, propagation channel modeling, and various prototyping efforts Required Qualifications: - Sustained excellence in academic performance - Must be a student enrolled full-time in an accredited degree-seeking program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or a related degree and continue to be enrolled full-time the semester following the internship - Demonstrated interest in serving the public Preferred Qualifications: - Eager to learn new skills and technologies - You have an interest in wireless communications, networking technologies, digital signal processing (DSP), systems engineering, or other similar technical disciplines - Course work or experience in any of the following: wireless communications, signal processing, RF systems, satellite systems, waveforms, channel modeling, modeling and simulation Required Skills: Wireless Communications, Digital Signal Processing, Modeling and Simulation, RF Laboratory Test Equipment, Software Defined Radios, MATLAB, C++, Python, SQL, Systems Tool Kit (STK), Signal Processing, RF Systems, Satellite Systems, Waveforms, Channel Modeling, Systems Engineering Benefits: Competitive benefits, Exceptional professional development opportunities for career growth, A culture of innovation that embraces adaptability, collaboration, technical excellence, and people in partnership
