Job Description
Summary: Mission University offers unique Applied Practice Experiences (APE) that satisfy elective and internship requirements for students and professionals. This experiential learning opportunity integrates computer literacy and introductory website design with behavior modification and conflict resolution skill-building for middle school-aged learners.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in facilitating small group sessions with middle school students
- Support instruction in basic computer skills and beginner web design concepts
- Reinforce emotional regulation, anger management, and conflict resolution strategies
- Guide students through hands-on activities and final projects (e.g., simple websites, personal behavior plans)
- Observe, document, and reflect on student progress and engagement
- Collaborate with faculty and program supervisors on implementation and feedback
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and maintain professionalism
Preferred Qualifications:
- Field of study in education, psychology, public health, social work, or related area preferred
- Interest in youth development and applied learning environments
