Job Description
Summary: Micro Matic is seeking an Engineering Intern to support their Engineering team in the design and development of beverage dispensing systems. This role provides practical experience in a manufacturing environment and contributes to various engineering projects and process improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with product design, development, and testing activities under the direction of engineering staff
- Support engineering change processes, including documentation updates and revision control
- Create, update, and maintain technical documentation such as drawings, bills of materials, and work instructions
- Participate in prototype assembly, validation testing, and troubleshooting efforts
- Collect, organize, and analyze data to support engineering evaluations and process improvements
- Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to identify and address product or process issues
- Assist in CAD modeling, drawing revisions, and basic design modifications (as applicable)
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing and efficiency projects
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures while working in office and production environments
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- Basic knowledge of engineering principles and manufacturing processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to follow instructions, manage tasks, and meet deadlines
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
- Exposure to lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
- Familiarity with technical drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Prior internship, project, or academic experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
