Network Engineer Intern

Summary: MCNC is seeking a Network Engineering Intern to contribute creatively and gain hands-on experience. The intern will work with customers and the network engineering team to develop and implement a redesign and maintenance schedule for rack layouts at remote sites. Responsibilities: - Work with our customers, network engineering team and the MCNC NOC to develop a plan and implement a redesign and maintenance schedule of the rack layout at our remote sites Required Qualifications: - Current student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field - Skilled in framing a project plan, developing, testing and documenting - Must be able to work effectively individually as well as in a team environment - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required - Flexibility to work non-typical hours - Must have a valid driver's license and will be required to drive a company vehicle on company business - Pre-employment and annual MVR checks will be required during your employment with the company for this position in order to be approved to drive a company-owned vehicle - Background and sex offender checks will be performed for pre-employment and annually during your employment with the company - This role will be required to adhere to the MCNC Substance Abuse policy, which may include drug/alcohol screening at hire and periodically or randomly during employment Preferred Qualifications: - Cisco command line experience a plus Required Skills: Project planning, Testing, Cisco command line
