Description: This course provides an introduction to theory and research in second language acquisition (SLA). It is designed to help students understand the processes, developmental patterns and factors contributing to SLA so that the students will be prepared to evaluate and develop teaching procedures in light of this understanding

1. A Master’s degree in Second Language Education or related area (in exceptional circumstances applicants without a Master’s degree but with significant research or professional experience related to the course content may be considered).
2. Expert knowledge of course content.
Experience / Expérience
1. Knowledge of the Quebec Education program (QEP).
2. Familiarity with the Professional Competencies specified in the Ministère de l’Éducation.
3. Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) to pre-service teachers.
4. Teaching degree or equivalent, and experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL).

1. A commitment to working with a team of committed and engaged instructors.
2. Must be available to attend course coordination and planning meeting minimum of 2 weeks in advance of the course start date.
