Job Description
Public Cloud Administrator (Entry Level)
Location: Louisville - West Market
Company:
Marsh Corporate
Description:
We are seeking a talented individual to join our team at Marsh. This role will be based in Louisville. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
We are seeking an entry-level Public Cloud Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our cloud infrastructure across Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This role is ideal for a recent college graduate with foundational cloud knowledge and a strong desire to grow technical skills in a supportive, team-oriented environment. You will help maintain and operate public cloud environments, learn best practices for secure and reliable cloud operations, and work closely with experienced engineers on day-to-day cloud tasks and projects.
We will count on you to:
Deploy, configure, and manage cloud resources (compute, storage, networking, databases) across AWS, Azure, and OCI while supporting existing on-prem Nutanix and VMware Horizon VDI environments.
Monitor cloud health, performance, and utilization; respond to routine alerts, escalate incidents, and participate in a rotating weekly on-call schedule.
Configure and secure storage (e.g., Amazon S3) with encryption, versioning, lifecycle rules, and bucket policies; implement IAM basics and adhere to security and compliance controls.
Support migration and upgrade tasks alongside senior engineers and assist application deployments and integrations with development, operations, and security teams.
Contribute to cost-optimization efforts and ongoing performance tuning to improve efficiency and reduce spend.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations and procedures, and collaborate with cross-functional teams for cloud initiatives and incident response.
What you need to have:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field — or equivalent practical experience — with a strong foundation in cloud concepts (compute, storage, networking, IAM) and physical datacenter fundamentals (server hardware, storage, networking).
Working knowledge of cloud networking fundamentals (VPCs/VNETs, subnets, security groups, firewalls, DNS) and comfort operating in both Windows and Linux server environments.
Basic scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, or Shell) and exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code concepts for automating deployments and configuration.
Strong problem-solving ability, quick learner, and able to troubleshoot technical issues across cloud and on-prem environments.
Good verbal and written communication skills, able to collaborate effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
What makes you stand out:
Internship or experience working with cloud platforms.
Entry-level cloud certification such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or equivalent.
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g. CloudWatch) and basic log analysis.
Interest in pursuing further technical certification and career growth within cloud engineering.
Why join our team:

We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have an impact on colleagues, clients and communities.
