Job Description
The Strategy Only Team supports clients nationwide by providing access to investment-only advice, without requiring a full wealth management engagement. The team delivers institutional-quality portfolios, custom asset allocation, and investment oversight while focusing on client relationships and ongoing guidance. The team leverages enterprise portfolio management, ensuring consistency, discipline, and scalability across investment-only relationships.
As a result of significant growth, we are hiring a Client Advisor to join Mariner. The Client Advisor will manage client relationships supported by Mariner’s extensive referral programs. The Client Advisor is responsible for providing financial guidance to clients and assistance to our referral partners.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client relationships, managing day-to-day communication and leading regular client meetings to address needs and provide updates.
- Maintain and grow existing client relationships by proactively resolving issues, identifying service improvements, and ensuring a high level of client satisfaction and retention.
- Prepare and deliver customized portfolio and performance reports, including quarterly billing and performance reporting approvals.
- Research and resolve technical or account-related issues, leveraging internal systems and collaborating with internal teams to ensure accurate client information and reporting.
- Partner closely with portfolio managers and cross-functional departments to coordinate client servicing, reporting accuracy, and portfolio communication.
- Support business development efforts by identifying growth opportunities, collaborating with business development teams on client acquisition, and maintaining relationships with external referral partners.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of prior experience working in financial services, preferably in an Advisor/Financial Consultant or like role
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or another related field is preferred.
- Series 65 or 7/66
Skills and Knowledge
- Sales support experience preferred
- Strong understanding of the financial services industry and financial consulting responsibilities
- Knowledge of Wealth Management including fee-based consulting, mutual funds, money manager programs, insurance, annuities, and financial planning is a plus
- A positive attitude and high energy level
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities
- Demonstrated presentation, analytical, interpersonal, relationship management, written, and verbal skills
